Hens
Prices listed are per day or part thereof. Full payment is required on the day of arrival by cash, PayPal, or bank transfer.
The cost of boarding is £7.00 per night, per hen house for up to six hens.
Each run has perches and treat peckers to add to the enjoyment of their stay; and a clean, dry house for laying and bedding down in at night. We also have dust bath areas set aside and an enclosed, larger free ranging area of our orchard where hens can be let out by prior arrangement*.
For stays in excess of two weeks, or where you are looking for accommodation for more than six hens, please contact us to obtain a price.

Our promise to you
We guarantee that your girls will have plenty of room & enrichment during their stay
Your girls will get lots of attention whilst you are away with daily treats picked from our allotment and a refill of corn in the peck feeder to keep them busy.
If your hens are partial to any particular treats you would like them to have, you are welcome to bring them along and we shall make sure they have those too.
Each of our runs contain multiple feed and water stations to ensure each hen has access to food and drink.
All of our runs have a minimum of eight square metres of floor space.
All hens will be kept in their own family group and will not share a run with other hens.
Accommodation
Each of our hen houses and runs is located in our orchard with a safe, sheltered, anti-tunnel skirted run to play in. Upon arrival your hens will be shown to their accommodation which will be clean and ready for them to move in.
All of our feathered guests stay in one of our Omlet Cube MK1 hen houses - capable of housing up to eight hens at a time with a minimum of eight square metres of secure run to scratch around in. Hen houses are cleaned regularly during the stay, and eggs are collected daily.
On departure all houses are jet washed and sanitized and new bedding added ready for the next guests to move in.

Please note that during peak school holiday times our accommodation does fill up very quickly, so early booking is advisable!

Terms and conditions
All boarders must be in good health upon arrival to Hens and Furry Friends. We cannot accept hens that show symptoms of ill health or respiratory infection. Unfortunately, we cannot provide boarding for cockerels.
Photographs of your pet, used solely by Hens and Furry Friends, may be published on our website / social media posts to advertise our services, and provide updates. No names or identification of the owner of the pet will be published. If you object to photographs of your pet being used for these purposes, please advise.
Although we are experienced poultry keepers, we cannot be held responsible for any loss, death, or injury to your hens whilst in our care. We shall take advice from the local veterinary practice if sickness or illness occurs and if treatment is required. Any veterinary charges will be your responsibility unless you instruct us otherwise.

Drop-off and Collection days are Mondays 9am - 11am and 2pm - 4pm and Tuesday to Friday 9am - 11am and 4pm - 6pm only. If you believe you will struggle with these times, please let us know and we can try to accommodate.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation charges are applied at the discretion of Hens and Furry Friends.
If you do have to cancel, we will endeavor to re-let the accommodation you booked. If successful, we will reduce cancellation charges to a minimum.
- Cancellation with less than 30 days’ notice of arrival date – 25% charge of full fee
- Cancellation with less than 1 weeks’ notice of arrival date – 50% charge of full fee
- Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice of arrival date – full fee is charged
